I should have bought this a long time back October 4, 2009 ChessOak (Texas, United States) THe AC/DC adapter is so much more useful than the standard AC adapter that comes with the Lenovo laptops. I always need more than one adapter and when we decided to travel to Europe and I was faced with extended time in the plane, I bit the bullet and bought this adapter.
Not only can it handle AC voltages in the Europe (220V) and US (110V), but it can handle DC power through a cigarette light adapter (12v) and the DC jacks that some airline companies install on their seats (20v?). It can also power a variety of devices. I've not investigated the full extent of the multitude of add-on tips and the versatitlty of the optional Y-adapter to power two devices simultaneously, but it is all there.
A great product that really works! June 24, 2008 K. alsanea (USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Purchased this item from ANTOnline tried it in my house, my car and on board an airplane and it worked 100% as advertised! very slim and it weights less the normal chargers never heats up even after hours of charging tried it on a ThinkPad's T61+R61+X60+R40 + Lenovo 3000 N100 without a single problem, a high quality product that I really recommend.
Good little charger November 12, 2009 T. J. Weaver (Austin, TX) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
When I received this charge, I was impressed at how thin it was. As everyone else mentions, to make this product as this as it is, the manufactures have made this wider than your average power brick. When using the charger on AC power, it gets really warm, and mine also emits a slightly audible buzzing sound. When in a noisy environment, it is unnoticeable, but when I am sitting by myself in an empty room, it is quite annoying. When using this adaptor on DC power, it does not get warm at all, and I can't tell if it still buzzes over the sound of my engine.
The one thing that I like about this design is how thich the lead cable is. Others dog on this fact but I love it. It is a stiffer cable than the stock one which leads me to believe that it will be harder for the cable to break right at the connection to the laptop adaptor like my old one did.
There are two things that I dislike about this charger: 1) The overall lenght of the cables is to short. My old broken adaptor is almost twice as long as this one. I find myself having to be very close to a power outlet and feel somewhat tethered. 2) When the proper tip is placed on the end of the universal lead, it makes this big bulky connector that has to plug into my laptop. It is almost 3 inches long before the cable can start to flex.
Hope this is helpful to someone, -TJ

This Lenovo 90W Slim AC/DC Combo Adapter works as specified from AC (plug it in, duh!) and DC (plug it in, duh!) I've used it here at home and in the car. I plan to use it overseas (it is specified to work from 100 to 240 vAC, so it will work in Europe with the necessary plug adapter due to the differences in plug connections, without the power converter unit.
I hope to be able to use it on the plane but we'll have to see if we get seats with power plugs! That isn't Lenovo's fault, so I'll leave it there.
Works as specified, what more could you want? Maybe for this Combo Adapter to be the supplied ThinkPad power supply?
Super-thin, and works on planes too May 18, 2008 Sabalito (USA) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
Prior to the introduction of this unit in January 2008, Lenovo had a very bulky power supply that would work on AC/Planes/Cars. This unit is exceptionally thin, thinner than the thinist part of the Lenovo X60/61s. With its AC cord and the cord that plugs into the PC, it weighs 14 oz. It comes with 3 tips for different Lenovo laptops. The only thing I wish they had done differently is that cord to the laoptop is thicker (heavier) than it should be (thicker than the cord that is found on the standard non-combo adapter). Compared to the IGo, which is not as wide as this new adapter, but at least twice as thick, this unit is much better. Compared to the thin Kensington, the unit is about the same thickness, but a bit smaller in other dimensions, does not get hot, and has a much longer cord to connect to the AC socket (about three feet), so it is much easier to use in hotel rooms where the Kensington is often hard to plug in. In short, the best combo adapter for your Lenovo computer on the market.
