Product Description This is an ALFA 802.11g wireless USB adapter. Includes a 5dBi Rubber Duck Antenna. The adapter comes with an RP-SMA antenna connector so that you can add an external antenna to boost your wireless range and signal. And to make things better we are including a dBi gain rubber duck antenna in the sale (comes with the adapter in the retail box).

Great antenna June 7, 2010 R. Schultz 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I rent a house on a lake in the Ozarks of Missouri. The house has no internet connection. The owners of the house live 3 doors down the street, a good 300 feet away. In their house they have a wireless router. From the rental house I could not get a signal on my laptop from their router. To do my work I would walk down the street to the patio at the back of their house and sit there to do my work. That didn't work so well when it rained.
I searched NewEgg, Circuit City, Radio Shack, Best Buy and Amazon. It seemed the greatest volume of reviews and the best reviews was for this unit. So I purchased the unit with the 5dbi antenna and the suction cup mount. It worked great! I thought I might need to sit in the back yard of the house I rent to get a signal even with the new antenna, but no I was able to sit in the kitchen at the table and get a good signal. I mounted the antenna to the window of the kitchen door and added a 15 foot USB extension cable to the antenna and I was able to move from the kitchen to the living room and check my email and web sites.
I highly recommended this Alfe unit.
It Really works ! March 25, 2010 H. Lees (Central NY) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I was skeptical that it wouldn't work as well as it does. I am on the road a lot and have to locate wifi sites to use; libraries, Miki D's, gas stations, coffee shops etc. This thing allows me to be further away from the buildings, very convenient when the parking lot is full. Very much worth the $30.00 I pd to get it. I also got the one with the suction cup window mount dock--good move...lets me hang it outside the driver window-out of the way of my typing with my elbows. Very good purchase.
Great product April 5, 2010 khod (Mequon WI) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
My business is about 200 ft from my home and wireless network, I was constantly dropping connections. This was really easy to setup . I never drop connections and I can see 4 other networks in my neighborhood. It's a great little antenna.
Extended reach in hotel room July 8, 2010 Heather Krause (Kansas City, MO United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was scheduled for a trip and the hotel owner told me in advance that their WiFi signal didn't extend to the room I was going to be in. Since I hoped to be on the Internet several hours while there, I bought one of these to see if it would extend the signal so I didn't have to go downstairs to the public areas. It worked great. Tried without the antenna first, and there was no signal at all. With the antenna installed, I was getting a very good signal and could even do Skype video calls from my room. The only negative is the software comes on one of those miniature CDs, which my computer wouldn't handle. This didn't end up being an issue, however, since I usually download the current driver from a manufacturer's website. Theirs was available and worked fine. Another plus... the unit is small enough to fit inside my netbook's sleeve for travel.

Easy, fast and it works! May 26, 2010 tmsfma (Southern California) I was having problems with hotel wireless connectivity-- decided to see what I could do and bought this item. Took me about 5 minutes to set it up on my Windows Vista laptop and my connection went from 2/5 bars to 5/5 bars. It comes with a mini-disc that contains the user manual/driver; I scanned the manual, followed the directions and it worked perfectly.
